How do you paint old furniture?
IVE brought to antique furniture and I like to paint them cream they are varnished and Tatty bits do I just rub the undercoat and paint or is it more than that they are a Welsh dresser and a side board thank you
I a beautiful square table later I did the same - he was lucky to start in a black shadow. Chemical stripper to get most of the varnish off, then wipe down to remove the last of the chemical followed by a little sanding. The stripper did the heavy lifting. Then paint on top. Resembles the table Laura Ashley now.
