Purple Flowers
What are the purple-flowered trees in Southern California?
I was in the region of Los Angeles (Fullerton / Anaheim perhaps?) Several years ago, and I do not remember the name of flowering trees, I saw there. Tthink I was early summer, but I'm not totally sure of the season, and all the trees were in bloom with beautiful purple flowers. They seemed to grow together enough, they not been definitively bushes or anything, but normal sized trees. Does anyone have an idea of what trees could be? They seemed be fairly common. Thank you!
My bet is Jacaranda ... Covered with purple flowers before the leaves emerge. Much more dramatic than other trees (Myrtle CRAPE etc.), but the trees Gorgeous major causes disruption when they leave these sticky masses of flowers. Wikepedia has a good image.
