Hand painted details on the vials of China?
they are snuff bottles that people used to use to keep XD snuff as the previous two people said. The technique of painting them is actually quite fascinating, because you have to paint on glass inside. So if you've already seen, the pictures are very detailed, and now you know they have been painted by the artist back. It requires great skill to paint. Of course, you can get very cheap (inferior) snuff boxes almost everywhere where there is a tourist spot in China, Great Wall in the most popular streets in Shanghai. btw when I say that I mean low price you can haggle on about 50 RMB (that's where I got one = P but I bought two)
