Can I copy "camp stew in an oven?
Camper stew, as I did on a camping trip in recent years, some pre-cooked sausage, potatoes and onions, Doucede liberally with beer, olive oil and spices, all in a mini-casserole of shacks made of tin foil. The package was double wrapped in foil, and located along the edge of our campfire, located in the East for the last five minutes to grill fast - total cooking time was about 25 minutes. My friends have their own stew of various meats and vegetables. We were all very pleased with our results - mine was especially delicious! But now I want to see if the recipe could transfer to my oven. Anyone have any suggestions on how to cook in my oven? I think using the same ingredients in a ceramic pot, covering it with foil, and thrown into the oven for about an hour at 350. I'm not sure it would really reproduce the thermal component though. I am pretty inexperienced at cooking. Suggestions? Anyone successfully bred "stew camping" at home?
you ... you have a Dutch oven? you can use that or a casserole but it probally will not be deep enough and could bubble over ... put a cookie sheet under ... sounds delicious you must mail Recipe!
