Charger Plate

I need help paint a plate loader gold?

I paint with my preschoolers on shippers (the gold plates I got) but I do not know the best paint to use ar the right sealant that will protect their art from gentle washing and not damage the paint when applied. thank you for your help! http://www.save-on-crafts.com/golleafcharp.html the link shows you the plates

Shippers are acrylic, so I would use acrylic paints (there are acrylics too runny) to design desired. There are clear spray acrylic sealer like Krylon that you use in late May. Have fun and let the preschoolers lead this project.
