Bread Tray
Is it wrong to take the drink and then the bread of communion?
I sat in church this morning, when the tray of communion passed around. I guess I was not really thinking about what I did, because I took the drink and then bread. I've eaten in that order. (PS, the traditional method is to eat bread and drink wine "), my father was really angry against me and told me it was evil. Is it really?
AFAIK, the only reason to take the bread first, then the drink is because it was the order has been taken in the Last Supper in Scripture. Maybe you've taken in a different order, but the symbolism remains the same. (and remember not the cup and bread are just that - symbols. They save you or condemn themselves.) Besides, I think God is a much more concerned about your attitude / Motivation to follow the tradition to the letter.
