I have a question vintage LP!?
I have a near mint condition set of LP's from what I guessed to be the beginning 1930s. This is a series of classical music performed at the Hollywood Bowl in 1928 by the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra Conducted by Eugene Goossens. I read the little book is the first time that an outdoor symphony has been saved successfully. I Want to Sell on ebay but I have no idea how much it is in May As I said the real Vinyals is in perfect condition, I do not think they ever was played. Does anyone have any idea how this may be enhanced? Thank you very much!
They did not record in the early 30s. A concert at the Hollywood Bowl in 1928, was recorded on 78s, LPs and you've probably made From these 78 towers so they can be reissued in the 1950s or later. They are called "cuts. Info history: the 78s were probably early "electric" recording. For many years, records were made by the "sound" method. A singer or an orchestra played in a large paper cone, and the vibration shook a needle in a case of wax. There were no electronics involved - No microphones or amplifiers or anything. In the mid-1920s, the electronics were invented that allowed amplification records and mixing, so suddenly improved, and now it is possible to record a symphony orchestra outside. When you sell something on eBay, you must sell at true market prices because the real market price of something is what someone is willing to pay for it. So I would a reserve on it of the minimum that you want to let go, then see if collectors think it is worth more than that. If you list it be safe include a list of tracks - I mean what music is on the album. It's an interesting thing - I'd like to hear myself! (Goossens was a conductor and composer British GREAT! It has even been implicated in a scandal of witchcraft!) But this is probably not worth much money. Maybe $ 20 a true collector.
